Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand singled out one player for high praise in the wake of the 1-1 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Man Utd forced to settle for point at Leeds
Man United would’ve been hoping to return to winning ways on Sunday afternoon, having been held to a draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the most recent match at Old Trafford, but they were forced to settle for a draw against rivals Leeds.
Brenden Aaronson opened the scoring for the hosts just after the hour mark, but Matheus Cunha’s goal just minutes later ensured the spoils were shared, and Ruben Amorim’s side remain fifth in the Premier League table.
United did have chances to win the game, but Benjamin Sesko failed to deliver in front of goal, with journalist Samuel Luckhurst suggesting the Slovenian is too young to be the main centre-forward.
However, at the opposite end of the pitch, fellow summer signing Senne Lammens did enough to impress Ferdinand, who said on YouTube after the game: “I think he’s been an absolute steal, recruitment have done a wonderful job getting him.”
The former centre-back also went on to describe the goalkeeper as “calm and composed”, before adding: “He’s made of the right stuff, level-head, calm, cool and collected goalkeeper. Love it.”

Cunha made it clear United “tried everything” to secure the three points this afternoon, and the Brazilian certainly played his part, bagging his fourth Premier League goal of the campaign.
A draw was a fair result on the balance of play, however, with United crafting an xG of 1.46, compared to 0.92 from Leeds, whose only game came through Aaronson, with the American racing through and firing the ball past Lammens in the 62nd minute.
The Belgian cannot be blamed for the goal, given that it was a powerful strike from close range, and he otherwise put in a solid performance, making two saves from inside the box to keep Leeds at bay.
